Careers

A career with Faircloth & Reynolds means that you will be applying or learning your work skills as part of a dynamic and growing team of passionate tradespeople, labourers, administration, and other valued staff members.

Why Faircloth & Reynolds

Since 1984, Faircloth & Reynolds has provided the highest quality refrigeration, air conditioning and catering equipment installation and service available in regional NSW and has also expanded its operation into the Greater Sydney and southeast QLD regions.

By undertaking work projects from central QLD to southern NSW and having offices from Brisbane to Sydney and west to Armidale, our staff can choose an exciting city lifestyle or can enjoy the many delights of living in many of the wonderful coastal and rural towns and cities in these areas.

Faircloth & Reynolds staff have the choice of working on the tools at building sites, doing service work at the premises of our valued clients, undertaking factory-based work, estimating and project management, a variety of roles in administration and finance, positions in transport, warehousing and logistics, and much more.

Over 300 apprentices have earned their trade qualifications as refrigeration & air conditioning mechanics, electricians and sheet metal workers over the past three decades while under the supervision of our existing skilled tradespeople. A trade learned with Faircloth & Reynolds has set up many individuals as highly competent and successful tradespeople and has also led too many of our former apprentices ultimately moving into management roles with the company after a fulfilling career working “on the tools”.

Faircloth & Reynolds head office and factory at Coffs Harbour includes one of the best equipped steel fabrication facilities outside a capital city in Australia. It comprises five separate sheds of equipment including plasma cutters, press brakes, spiral duct formers and ovalisers, welding equipment, metal guillotines and much more. The staff in these factories are amongst the most skilful in the industry. Staff in our administration and finance divisions are also supported been undertaking additional study to improve their skills and professionalism.

Our client list includes a large number of well known brands in Australian commerce. In retail, it includes Woolworths group, Coles group, Aldi and IGA. In constructions, many tier 1 and tier 2 companies such as Mainbrace Constructions, Hutchinsons, Paynter Dixon, Lipman, and CPB use our services. In health care, Ramsay Healthcare, the NSW Government and many Local Area Health Services are our clients. Further, hundreds of other large and small businesses, from cafes and coffee shops to pubs, clubs and many more call Faircloth & Reynolds to have their business needs met. It is indeed a testament to the whole Faircloth & Reynolds team that these organisations choose to use its services time and time again.

Apprenticeship Schemes

Faircloth & Reynolds has been running an annual apprenticeship scheme since 1985, and offers apprenticeships in Electrical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal Fabrication. Every year, multiple apprentices are chosen to commence a 4-year trade apprenticeship.

Currently, Faircloth & Reynolds employs 60 apprentices across these 3 trades in NSW & QLD. Since the scheme commenced, approximately 300 apprentices have completed their trade qualification with Faircloth & Reynolds.

For most, an apprenticeship at Faircloth & Reynolds has been the springboard to a rewarding career in their chosen trade. Some have also gone on work in various management positions within our organisation. For example, our current Operations Manager, Service Manager and catering Manager were all once Faircloth & Reynolds Refrigeration & Air Conditioning apprentices! We also have Draftspersons, Project Managers, Sales People, Commissioners, and Estimators who started their careers with Faircloth & Reynolds as apprentices.

Community Engagement

Non-work activities supported by Faircloth & Reynolds include hosting work experience students from many high schools, supporting staff members to participate in the annual Tour de Rocks charity cycle ride from Armidale to South West Rocks, the Coffs Harbour running festival and 1/2 marathon, assistance to high achieving sportspeople employed by the company and the sponsorship of many local sports and other recreational clubs. Management and staff also regularly contribute to many charity and other worthwhile community causes.

A huge part of the success of Faircloth & Reynolds is the leadership, foresight and generosity of the founding directors, Peter Faircloth & David Reynolds. Peter and David both started their career as apprentices and understand both the commitment required and rewards available to young people who enter into an industry which is constantly evolving and will continue to expand into the future. Their loyalty to all members of the Faircloth & Reynolds team who have helped create such a great success story exemplifies the character of Peter and David and their respective families.
